What is Arnclan?

Arnclan Limited is a small general IT company based in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire. Arnclan employs specialists in a number of IT related fields and has expertise in software development, web site design and hosting, graphic design, IT consultancy, hardware maintenance and support.

Arnclan's friendly staff includes IT graduate developers, qualified electronics engineers with over 25 years experience in mainframe and PC maintenance.

Arnclan's Key Personnel

Phil Hartles Managing Director and co-founder of Arnclan began his career in computing in 1979 as a mainframe operator for Rank Xerox. Subsequently Phil attained a distinction in electronics at City & Guilds Level III and spent most of the 1980s working for a large 3rd party maintenance company repairing IBM, Compaq and compatible desktop PCs, laser printers and other peripheral devices.

Prior to founding Arnclan in 2002, Phil held the positions of Project Manager and then Development Director at Auriga Communications Ltd a market leader in computerised mobile data dispatch systems. At Auriga, responsible for a £750,000 R&D budget, Phil brought to market one of the UK's first real-time, wireless credit card authorisation and transaction processing systems.

Now a Microsoft Certified Professional, Phil's breadth of experience in computing and IT is invaluable in providing Arnclan's customers with solutions and consultancy.

Martin Hart Development director and co-founder of Arnclan left university in 1996 with an honours degree in computer science. Subsequently, Martin joined Auriga Communications Ltd where he was lead developer on a number of major projects. Martin's breadth of knowledge and experience of software development enables him to select the most appropriate programming language and/or development environment for the task in hand, often specifying more than one for a single project.
